After the start of Covid-10, as per message from the Most Worthy Grand Matron and the Worthy Grand Matron of Ohio, Mary Chapter # 9 did not hold any meetings. Inspection that was scheduled for May 5, 2020 was canceled. "Symphony of the Stars" 2020 Grand Chapter Session of Ohio Grand Chapter was also canceled. The officers gathered for a social time on Zoon on June 9, 2020. It was great hearing with the members had been doing during the pandemic.
Another guideline letter was sent by the WGM, Sister Margi Wheeler regarding the meetings which were used for a meeting held on June 23, 2020. This was the annual meeting, election of officers and annual reports.
The officers were installed following the guildelines for "in-person installation with social distancing as per the MWGM, Sister Shenefelt and using the installation ceremony language as printed in the ritual". Nine members were installed at this time.
The chapter enjoyed Zoom meetings for the months of November, January, February and resumed being able to meeting at the Masonic Center on March 9, 2021. The members are looking forward to seeing each other in the coming months as the pandemic lessons and more people are able to get the Covid-10 vaccine.
Mary Chapter # 9 lost several members during this time. Those who have passed were Brothers Wilson Mowery, and Norman Fischer and Sisters Esther Ann Bugg, Janet Sieg, Carole Schwartz Sandra Roberts, and Anna Jean Scott The Grand Chapter of Ohio experienced the loss of Past Grands. They were Brother Glen M. Place , WGP 1999-2000, Sisters Marilyn C. Bennett, WGM 1991-1992, and Sister Coralee Holahan WGM 1977-1978.
50-year members Sister Eileen and Brother Don Howard celebrated their 75th anniversary.
Sister Nancy Rider's project for this year as Worthy Matron of Mary Chapter, of collecting socks for the homeless. The members are looking forward to being together again.
